Lesson time is precious, so focus and attentive listening are key. If you follow these guidelines, I guarantee you'll see dramatic improvement in your piano playing!
Typical Lesson Structure
A typical lesson at Blue Groove Piano Studio begins with hand stretching and exercises (Hanon, scales, arpeggios, etc.). We then work through your lesson and theory books, followed by focused practice on your main pieces/songs. I also encourage creative free play, and sometimes I'll even jam with students on guitar – it's a lot of fun!

I've had many students overcome difficult passages and polish songs far beyond their initial expectations, all through slow, diligent practice. A metronome is an indispensable tool! If students take my advice and practice with a purpose, they will 100% succeed with the pieces/songs I give them.
